Boston, MA -- NorthPoint Domain, an IC Sciences company,
announced today a partnership with New York University Vascular
Associates at NYU Langone Medical Center to develop a
comprehensive suite of Internet informatics instruments for
advanced specialty care delivery. Based on a shared commitment
to excellence in vascular interventions, the partnership
addresses the critical need to provide clinicians with new tools
to inform, engage, and shepherd patients throughout the care
continuum. By leveraging the Internet's ubiquitous availability,
care delivery informatics instruments allow vascular specialists
to reach out to consumers and community practitioners to raise
awareness about new advances in early detection and treatments
in vascular disease. |

The
partnership will allow for customized development of care
delivery instruments for NYU's vascular group, which has one of
the largest vascular surgery teams in the country and decades of
experience treating thousands of patients. Dr. Mark A. Adelman,
Chief, Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, commented,
"We are excited to be at the forefront of deploying these new
medical information systems, and anticipate that our clinicians'
use of the resulting applications will advance their ability to
effectively partner with patients, inform referrers, and learn
from aggregate patient data." Rony Sellam, President of
NorthPoint Domain, added, "Our informatics instruments allow
clinicians to engage patients at advanced levels, thereby
delivering more potent medical services to patients."
A burgeoning scientific evidence base supports a link between
quality care, clinical outcomes, and patient engagement. These
studies also indicate that one of the most effective forms of
patient engagement involves physician-guided interactive
computer applications that deliver personalized content,
messaging, and care support tools. NorthPoint Domain's patient
engagement instruments provide this functionality, allowing
clinicians to prescribe applications from nearly 100 patient
content modules covering specific conditions, tests, treatments,
and risk factor management. These materials are created and kept
current by NorthPoint Domain's vascular physician advisors, who
are leaders of national and international renown.
